New Annual Event

 

Scholarship - This year we will begin annually awarding "The Charlie and Anne Ferm Scholarship" to one or more of our students who have completed at least one year of college or trade school and plan to continue. All interested students or their parents should contact the church office or Pastor Troy for general guidelines and an application - or you may click HERE for more details and to download an application. The deadline for applications is May 15th.

 

Montreat Youth Conference IV - "World On Fire" - July 19th - 27th. The non-refundable deposit of $100 was due on Sunday, March 15th. If you have not paid the deposit and you are planning on going, please see Pastor Amy immediately. The final payment of $110 will be due by April 12th. This year we will also include a mission trip.

Camp Montgomery Summer Camp - brochures are out and available on the table in the narthex. Scholarships are available.

 

Elder Caregiver Support Group - welcomes Michelle Bennett on May 28, 2009 at 7:30 pm. Topic willbe "Dementia Care". . Light snacks are provided. For additional information, please call Shari Davis, 982-3030.

 

Tip-A-Cop for Special Olympics - On Monday, May 4, Tuesday May 5, and Wednesday, May 6, Clay County Sheriff's Deputies will hold a "Tip-A-Cop" fundraiser for Special Olympics at Longhorn Steakhouse in Fleming Island. The golas of the Tip-A-Cap program is to collect donations for Epecial Olympics Clay County through "tips". This is a fundraising event in which law enforcement officers assist with waiting tables and collect "tip" donation for Special Olympics.

 

Outreach Committee - would like to send phone cards to military personnel who have been wounded and are recuperating at Walter Reed Hospital. Between now and May 17th, we will be accepting donations. If you would like to contribute, please drop any donation of phone cards in the church office.

Showers and Housewarming

Stephenie Sullivan and Justin Grover were wed on March 21st. In celebration of their union, the Women of the Church will be hosting a wedding shower for them on Sunday, April 26, 2009 during fellowship time. Please plan to join us in the fellowship hall immediately following worship that day to celebrate the marriage of Mr. & Mrs. Justin Grover. They are registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Franklyn Cheatum and Blanca Smart will be wed on May 23rd. The Women of the Church will be hosting a wedding shower for them on May 3rd during fellowship time. Please plan to join us in the fellowship hall immediately following worship that day to honor the couple and send them our best wishes. Housewarming - As you may be aware, Regina Manning's parents lost everything in a house fire recently. The Women of the Church would like to help support them in any way we can. Since the youth are not having a yard sale this spring, perhaps you have some household items that you were going to give away anyway. Please watch the bulletin for a listing of items that they would be very grateful to receive to replace everything they lost.

Montgomery Presbyterian Center is having an Open House on May 2nd. - Join us for the Open House on Saturday, May 2nd. The center will be open from 9:30 AM until 3:00 pm for children, youth and adults to come and explore the grounds. Trhgouhout the day, there will be many fun activities available like swimming, tubing, archery, arts and crafts, and climbing the rock wall. Examples of our lodging will beopen for tours. All events are free.
