Bible Study for PWOC and Circle Groups was kicked off at the First Annual "End of Summer Retreat" held in The Fellowship Hall on Saturday, September 12, 2009.
In addition to a cook-out of hamburgers, hotdogs and lots of excellent side dishes furnished by the attendees, the group participated in an "interactive" Bible Study - a trivia contest on the subject of "Joshua".
Three different groups participated - Nun, The Warriors and The Shofars. The groups were all tied at the finish line; however, a bonus question worth 25 points gave The Shofars the victory.
If you missed the Retreat, you missed a really good time. But you can still download the "trivia contest here" and learn a little about Joshua in the process.
(If you need a little help, you can download the answers here.)
Important Questions to ask yourself during the study of Joshua
How can each of us, individually, as a church member, as a citizen of a particular nation, more faithfully respond to God?
As we listen and learn about the issues addressed in Joshua, how can apply those same issues to our own lives, both individually and as a group?
Lessons to be Learned From Joshua
Two of the keys to Joshua's success were (1) his strong faith and belief in God and (2) the fact that he had always "wholeheartedly followed God."
Joshua's story is one of the most dramatic and powerful stories in the Bible. His story is a perfect example for all Christians on how to properly follow God and the call that He can place on your life.
